The Imrali Delegation of the Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) met today with KDP (Kurdistan Democratic Party) President Massoud Barzani in Hewlêr, South Kurdistan, as part of talks after their meetings with Abdullah Öcalan.
The delegation includes İmralı Delegation members Pervin Buldan and Sırrı Süreyya Önder, Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Co-Chair Keskin Bayındır, Özgür Erol and İbrahim Bilmez from Asrin Law Office, DEM Party Foreign Relations Commission Co-Spokesperson Berdan Öztürk, MPs Gülcan Kaçmaz Sayyiğit and Mehmet Kamaç.
The meeting, which took place at Barzani’s office in Pirman (Salahaddin) district, lasted 1 hour and 45 minutes.
According to a statement by Massoud Barzani's Press Office, “details of their recent talks with Mr. Abdullah Öcalan and the messages received were conveyed to Barzani.”
Accordingly, the KDP Leader Massoud Barzani expressed his readiness to support the progress of the new process in Turkey and to do his part in this regard.
Pervin Buldan and Sırrı Süreyya Önder held two meetings with Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan in İmralı F Type High Security Closed Prison on 28 December 2024 and 22 January 2025, when Öcalan conveyed messages aimed at finding a solution.
The DEM Party delegation then met with political parties in the Turkish Grand National Assembly and with Figen Yüksekdağ, Selahattin Demirtaş, Leyla Güven and other imprisoned politicians, and conveyed the suggestions, opinions and ideas from these meetings to Öcalan.
On the other hand, the party informed the public about these activities through public meetings and rallies in 42 centers and conveyed the opinions, suggestions, concerns and expectations of the people to the İmralı Delegation in the form of reports.
