2 adults and 2 children arrested for herding animals
2 adult and 2 child nomads who were herding their animals in Şırnak were arrested for “trespassing in a military restricted zone”.
Osman Gungen, Reshit Gungen, I.G. (16) and M.G. (16) were herding their animals in the Behra Hinche Plateau when soldiers detained them for “trespassing in a military restricted zone”. The nomads gave their statements in the Şırnak Gendarmerie Command and were referred to the court.
“AIDING AND ABETTING” CHARGES FOR HERDING
The detained nomads were referred to the Criminal Court of Peace on Duty for “aiding and abetting a terrorist organization” and were subsequently arrested and sent to the Şırnak Type T Closed Prison.
Osman Gungen reportedly suffers from constant headache and shortness of breath.
