19 Turkish soldiers killed in a week in southern Kurdistan

HPG Press Center announced that 19 soldiers have been killed in actions against the Lelikan Hill in Bradost between April 5 and 12.

HPG Press Center (HPG-BİM) issued a statement on the invasion attacks in Bradost and the outcome of guerilla actions against them, and said 19 soldiers have been killed.

HPG also gave information on the actions in Amed during the month of March.

The statement is as follows:

APRIL 5 LELIKAN AREA: 10 SOLDIERS KILLED

On April 5, the invading Turkish army launched an invasion operation against Lelikan and Kevortê areas. Our forces carried out a sabotage action against the Turkish army unit attempting to build positions on the Kevortê Hill on April 9. 10 enemy soldiers were killed in this action as far as could be ascertained and many others were wounded. After the action, several Skorsky helicopters came to pick up the casualties.

APRIL 11, LELIKAN: 9 SOLDIERS KILLED

On the morning of April 11, our forces carried out a sabotage action against invading Turkish soldiers attempting to come down the Lelikan Hill. 5 soldiers were killed and 6 others were wounded in this action.

On our statement dated April 11, we announced that our forces carried out an action against the enemy units on Lelikan Hill on April 11 at 09:30. According to new information since, 4 soldiers were killed and 5 others wounded in the explosion in this attack.

APRIL 12: NUMBER OF CASUALTIES UNKNOWN

On April 12 (today) at 08:00, our forces carried out an action against the invading Turkish army positioned on the Lelikan Hill. The enemy barracks and positions were fired on heavily in the action while the number of casualties could not be ascertained.”
