People’s Defense Forces Press and Communications Center (HPG-BIM) released a statement providing details of the clashes and actions in Dersim, Hakkari and Siirt provinces in Northern Kurdistan.

DERSİM

Turkisjh army started an operation supported by unmanned aerial vehicles and Cobra type assault helicopters in Rojdere region of Dersin on March 31. Turkish army airdropped soldiers on Marty Ferhat, Hungurvan, Hill Tevneşê, Mirik and Martyr Tekin areas and conducted search operations in these areas.

As part of the Martyr Ozan and Marty Roza Revolutionary Campaign launched by guerrilla forces in Dersim, guerrillas carried out an action against two Turkish military units participating in the operation on March 31. Effective strikes left 8 soldiers dead and many more wounded. A guerrilla by the name of Rozerin who got injured during the action detonated the bombs she was carrying and fell a martyr in order not to be captured by the enemy. During ensuing clashes with Turkish forces, two guerrillas fell fighting.

The operation units partially withdrew from the area at 17:00. The invading forces airdropped soldiers in Tevneşe area on April 1 and this operation was withdrawn on April 3.

Identities of the fallen comrades will be shared with the public once clarified.

HAKKARİ

On April 6, guerrillas carried out a sabotage action against a Turkish military unit on Hill Şundırê in the countryside of Hakkari’s Çelê (Çukurca) district. Two enemy soldiers were killed and one other was wounded in this action.

SİİRT

As part of the Martyr Delal Amed and Besta Martyrs Revolutionary Campaign in Botan region, guerrillas carried out an action against the Turkish army near Gırdara village in Siirt’s Çiyayêreş area on March 30. The Turkish army launched an operation in this area after their forces suffered heavy blows. Fierce clashes erupted between Turkish units and guerrilla forces in this area at 15:00 on March 31. Several enemy soldiers were killed during clashes, while guerrillas Havin, Erdal and Bager fell giving a heroic fight.”
