Activists and families of prisoners sentenced to death by the Iranian state gathered in front of Evin Prison in Tehran to demand a halt to the death penalty.

The demonstration took place as part of the “No Death Penalty on Tuesdays” campaign.

Human rights activists Narges Mohammadi, Jafar Penahi, Hesti Amiri, Aresh Sadiqi, Kamiz Nurozi, Shiqayiq Muradi, Arya Shahi and Hossein Rezak were among those partaking in the protest demonstration in front of the prison.

Activists demand an immediate halt to the death penalty. Prisoners in Iran and Eastern Kurdistan go on hunger strike every Tuesday against the death penalty.
