People of Qamishlo form 5 more battalions: We will defend ourselves

The People's Assembly in the Cudi neighbourhood of Qamishlo announced that they formed 5 battalions under the umbrella of the HPC within the scope of mobilisation in North-East Syria under attack.

The People's Assembly in the Cudi neighbourhood of Qamishlo announced that they formed 5 battalions under the umbrella of the Social Defence Forces (HPC) as part of the mobilisation in support of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), People's Defence Units (YPG) and Women's Defence Units (YPJ).

Hesen Elî Mihemed, Co-Chair of the North-East Syrian Assembly of Religions and Beliefs, who read the press statement in Kurdish, stressed that they would support the resistance of the SDF, YPG and YPJ against the attacks by the invading Turkish state and allied mercenaries. He stated that they would protect the gains of the North-East Syrian Revolution, which is in its 15th year, with great will and faith.


Mihemed saluted the resistance of the SDF, YPG and YPJ forces against the occupying Turkish state and mercenaries at Tishrin Dam and said, “We will continue to resist on the basis of organising in every village, every neighbourhood, every city and every street in order to actively participate in the Revolutionary People's War and crown the gains of the revolution with democratic victory and freedom. We will defend ourselves and defeat the occupation.”

Last week, the People's Assembly in the Enteriye neighbourhood of Qamishlo announced the formation of 8 battalions affiliated to the HPC within the framework of self-defence as part of general mobilisation.
