Kurdish kolbar seriously injured in mine explosion in Rojhilat

A Kurdish kolbar was seriously injured in a mine explosion near Ciwanro. The kolbar lost a leg.

Kolbarnews wrote that a Kurdish kolbar was seriously injured by a mine near the town of Ciwanro (Javanrud) in Rojhilat (East Kurdistan). The father of three children lost his leg in the explosion and can no longer work as a kolbar.

The social situation in the quasi-colonial exploitation of East Kurdistan is dramatic. For countless Kurds, the only way to earn at least a small income is to carry loads across the border to South Kurdistan. They risk their lives, and not just because of the high mountain passes. The border areas are mined and Turkish and Iranian security forces consider kolbar fair game. They are regularly robbed, attacked or executed.

In the first six months of this year alone, at least 34 Kurdish kolbars were killed by Iranian regime troops.
