Justice Vigil for ill prisoners launched in Van after Amed

While the Justice Vigil for ill prisoners continues in Amed, families of prisoners started another Justice Vigil in the Van Bar Association.

In the Van Bar Association Tahir Elçi Conference Hall, the relatives of ill prisoners İbrahim Alkan, Emrah Abi, and Sinan Karel started a vigil.

Dilşah Alkan, the wife of prisoner İbrahim Alkan, stated that her husband could not remain in jail.

"My husband, who has diabetes and cholesterol, has been in prison for about 3 years," Alkan said, demanding her husband's release, and added “I know he's being held simply because he's Kurdish. I want him released and justice served as quickly as possible. My husband was imprisoned simply for voicing his views," she said.

Asya Abi, mother of Emrah Abi who was sentenced to 66 years in jail, complained that her son had been imprisoned for ten years and demanded his release.

Mother Asya Abi remarked that, "My only wish is that justice is served. It is our appeal to families; the more of us there are, the sooner our demand for justice will be met."

"What has been done to us is cruelty. How long will this torture go on? I'm counting on everyone's support to make our vigil successful," said Sinan Karel's mother, Zeynep Dayan.
