Family of ill prisoner Ibrahim Alkan calls on everyone to support the Justice Vigils

The family of ill prisoner Ibrahim Alkan (67) called on everyone to support the Justice Vigil launched in different cities for all ill prisoners.

Due to the torture and isolation policy of the Turkish state against prisoners, many ill prisoners have lost their lives in prisons in recent years. Ill prisoners who are unable to survive in jail are neither treated nor released.

The Justice Vigil launched in the provinces of Kurdistan and Turkey to demand the release of ill prisoners, continues. As the actions initiated by the relatives of the prisoners are spreading, families are calling on everyone to support the actions of the prisoners.

67-year-old Ibrahim Alkan, who was imprisoned for 6 years and 7 months in the 'KCK case' and has now been held in Van F Type Prison for 3 years, struggles with many diseases such as diabetes, heart, blood pressure, sugar, cholesterol and prostate.

‘We can get them out of prison if we act together’

Dılşah Alkan, wife of prisoner Ibrahim Alkan, said that everyone should raise their voices for ill prisoners, and added that they do not want the prisoners to die in prisons.

Stating that they expect support from everyone, especially mothers, Alkan said: "If we join hands and act together, we can get our ill relatives out of prisons. We want justice, peace and freedom. My husband suffers from many diseases. He is given 4 insulin injections a day. We don't want him to stay in prison with these diseases.

He has many reports confirming his serious health problems. We gave these reports to the prosecutor's office, but they rejected them. Everything is in their hands. They know very well the condition of our relatives, but they do not allow their release. We will continue to fight for justice, peace and freedom. They should find a solution for us, because we will not give up our fight for justice."

‘Don’t let one more life be lost’

Ibrahim Alkan is 67 years old and was sentenced to 6 years and 7 months in the KCK case. Alkan's daughter-in-law Pınar Alkan said: "We, as the families of ill prisoners, do not want to experience this pain. The resistance started to demand the release of ill prisoners will continue. In order for this resistance to be successful, mothers, children and wives won’t give up the Justice Vigil until justice is served. We welcome all our people to our Justice Vigil and ask for everyone's support. I am calling out to everyone: support this vigil."
