17 Kurdish children have began a hunger strike in a Mersin jail in Turkey.

There are more than 2200 children, mostly Kurds, in Turkish jails according to the National Judicial Network in Turkey.

The children were picked up on a funeral for a Kurdish fighter. They are protesting that they have not even been charged yet remain incarcerated.
