Lawyers for Öcalan have applied for the 673rd time for a meeting with the Kurdish leader, and they will release a report on his isolation on July 27.
Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan's lawyers İbrahim Bilmez, Serbay Köklü and Ebru Günay have applied to Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office to meet with their client tomorrow.
Lawyers of the Kurdish leader are denied meeting with their client since July 27, 2011.
One of the lawyers, Cengiz Yürekli announced that they will release a comprehensive report on the isolation in Istanbul on July 27 which -he said- is a critical day for Turkish and European judiciary as it marks the 6th year of denial of meetings with Öcalan.
Yürekli pointed out that Öcalan's last meeting with his brother Mehmet Öcalan on İmralı in September last year was allowed only due to public reaction, adding;
“The peace and democracy problem of Turkey cannot be resolved unless the problems in İmralı are resolved and conditions of Öcalan-the will of the Kurdish people- are improved. Intellectuals and democrats should stand with the will for peace. They must develop methods and ways that center on Öcalan. This is the reality we need as society. Conditions of health, security and free movement for Öcalan must be ensured independently from everything else in order to keep the hope for peace alive.”
