75-year-old retired teacher Takiyettin Özkahraman, who was arrested 3 years ago in the Malazgirt district of Muş, was taken to the Patnos District State Hospital by ambulance from Patnos L Type Prison, and then transferred to Van Yüzüncü Yıl University Dursun Odabaşı Hospital.

Özkahraman died in the intensive care unit of the hospital where he was treated for respiratory and lung failure.

Takiyettin Özkahraman was the chair of Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) Malazgirt province of in 2014.
