Tuðluk MP: major blow to freedom of expression

Politicians and people are visiting DÝHA News Agency since the raid and detention of journalists. DTK (Democratic Society Congress) deputy chair Aysel Tuðluk said the operation was a major blow to the freedom of press. Tuðluk said that “The operation against free press cannot be seen as something apart from the AKP government new strategy. Each person who believes in freedom is becoming a target for this government.”

Tuðluk added that the Kurdish press was targeted by the AKP government and commented these operations as unlawful. Tuðluk said that “A violent attack is launched against the Kurdish people, when you look at the isolation of Mr. Öcalan and the ongoing military ad political operations. Besides, a psychological war is conducted through mainstream media. This process is illegal and unjust. We demand that the government abandons this policy.”

Tuðluk added that they were ready to offer all kinds of support to those targeted by the operation.
