In the “Free Press Vigil” launched in front of the Özgür Gündem newspaper office, the newspaper’s workers and journalists in solidarity held the newsroom meeting in front of the sealed building of the newspaper.
The “Free Press Vigil” demonstration launched in front of the closed and illegally sealed Özgür Gündem newspaper building continues. The newspaper’s journalists who are not detained and journalists from DIHA held the daily newsroom meeting in front of the newspaper’s sealed office building in Taksim.
İbrahim Karakaş, a reporter for Özgür Gündem, said they will continue their vigil until their friends are released and the seal on the building is removed, and that they will continue to put out the newspaper. Karakaş called on the conscious public to attend the “Free Press Vigil”.
Readers of the newspaper wrote “At Özgür Gündem Vigil” and “The Truth Won’t Be Hidden” on the walls of the building.
Today’s issue with the headline “Solidarity Grows” was put up on the sealed door of the newspaper.
