Former editor of Özgür Gündem arrested
Former editor of Özgür Gündem daily paper, Turabi Kiþin, has been taken into custody today.
According to the information coming through the journalist has been taken into custody this morning at 7am at the Ankara airport of Esenboða. Kiþin has been taken to Istanbul.
On Wednesday Azadiya Welat Gazetesi owner Menderes Öner had been brought to Istanbul for questioning.
On 22 December a total of 49 journalists have been detained, of them 35 have been remanded in custody on 24 December. Turkey has a total of 95 journalists in prison.
