Police raided the houses of the 24 Azadiya Welat newspaper journalists that had been detained during the raid on the central office of the only daily Kurdish newspaper in Amed three days ago.

Police broke the door of İbrahim Bayram’s house and beat up Bayram’s family members this morning. Police officers are reported to have said ‘There is a state of emergency, we can do whatever we want’ and threatened Bayram’s family.

Reports suggest that the police officers carry out the raids in order to plant criminal evidence in the houses of the detained newspaper employees.
