27 people were taken into custody during yesterday's raid on the central office of the Kurdish daily Azadiya Welat in Amed province.

The journalists chanted “Free press cannot be silenced” as they were taken out of their office. The journalists were detained after 4 hours of police search in the office, during which 3 computers, 1 laptop and 62 books were seized.

Detainees include four people, Vesile Tulpar, Bahar Haram, Mecrum Tekol and Aydın Kaya, who happened to be in the office when it was raided.
