As part of an investigation launched by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, 16 people were taken into custody on the grounds that they posted messages on their social media calling for a shopping boycott that took place on 2 April.
As part of the investigation launched on the grounds of "hatred and discrimination" and "inciting the public to hatred and hostility", those detained were taken to the Istanbul Police Department.
