TJK-E calls for urgent action against deadly attacks on civilians at Tishrin

TJK-E called for urgent action for the civilians at Tishrin Dam who have been under attack by the genocidal Turkish state for days.

The Kurdish Women's Movement in Europe (TJK-E) made a written statement on the massacres carried out by the Turkish state against the civilian population at the Tishrin Dam.

The occupying Turkish state and allied mercenaries have been carrying out deadly attacks against citizens holding a resistance vigil at the Tishrin Dam near Manbij for 9 days.

The invading forces have attacked the area 7 times so far, leaving many dead and wounded. The attacks were directed against civilians who are taking part in the vigil action in the area to defend their territory alongside the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and Women's Defense Units (YPJ).

The TJK-E statement read, “The occupying Turkish state has been attacking the people who have been keeping vigil at the Tishrin Dam with UCAVs and heavy weapons for days. The Turkish state is waging an intense war before everyone's eyes to eliminate the gains of Rojava North and East Syria in line with its own interests. At such a time when all ethnic identities in Rojava come together under the leadership of women's resistance and organize themselves, we invite all our people, especially women and young people, to unite around this historic resistance.”
