TEV-DEM Executive Council member Bedran Çiyakurd said the process of revolution in Rojava and the defeat of ISIS gangs has frustrated the plans of the Turkish state which mobilized gang groups in Azaz, Efrîn and Aleppo in order to gain a place in the Syrian politics.
'TURKISH STATE HAS FAILED IN SYRIA
Speaking to ANF, Çiyakurd stated that the Turkish state organised and arranged gang groups such as ISIS, Al-Nusra Ahrar Al-Sham and Sultan Murat Brigade in Aleppo and Efrîn after the accomplished initiative of the Syrian Democratic Forces (QSD) in south Hesekê and around Al-Hawl town.
According to Çiyakurd, Turkey downed the Russian jet once it lost the control in Azaz and Jarablus region where Russia hit gang groups. He noted that the Turkish state didn't expect such a harsh attitude from Russia after shooting a plane of its on Syria border.
Remarking that the Turkish state's policy on Syria and Rojava has completely failed after its downing of the Russian plane, Çiyakurd said; "The Turkish state got into a panic when ISIS gangs were defeated and cleared by QSD forces in Hawl, and by HPG-YBŞ forces in Shengal. Turkey therewith went into action to avoid a similar defeat of ISIS in Azaz and Aleppo, and deployed gang groups affiliated to it between Jarablus and Azaz. ISIS gangs were selling oil to and getting all kinds of logistic support from the Turkish state over this region. Turkey downed the Russian plane to obstruct the bombardments by Russian aircraft.
Gang groups such as ISIS, Al-Nusra and Ahrar Al-Sham united and started to attack Efrîn, Azaz and Aleppo in order not to allow the Syrian Democratic Forces to take action against their groups around this region. These attacks were backed and encouraged by the Turkish state which used Turkmens as an excuse. That region houses not only Turkmens but also Armenians, Arabs and Kurds. The currently ongoing attacks of the gang groups against Kurdish villages aim to protect the presence of the Turkish state."
'TURKISH STATE CANNOT TOLERATE THE GAINS OF KURDS'
Remarking that Russia's intervention in Syria was grounded on the purpose of creating a political area for itself, Çiyakurd said Russia gained a voice and became a major actor in Syria after the downing of its plane by Turkey on border.
"Russia's intervention in the region is not welcomed by many circles. The Turkish state wants to maintain its presence in the region by means of gang groups, therefore draws a red line for itself, redresses balance and has gang groups attack Rojava by providing them all kinds of support. The Turkish state wants to leave a windpipe open for the gangs on Azaz line but all its plans and policies have failed upon the Russian intervention. Gang groups have forced the Kurdish, Armenian and Arab people living in Bayırbucak to migrate and evacuate the region which therewith became a base of the gangs now. Turkey wants to unite all the gang groups in Bayırbucak and have them attack Efrîn and Aleppo in order to destroy all the Kurdish gains. In the event of failing to do so, Turkey wants to render these gangs effective in the formation of Syria. Turkey is engaged in such a dirty relation and effort on Syria."
'TURKISH STATE DIDN'T EXPECT SUCH AN INTERVENTION BY SYRIA'
TEV-DEM Executive pointed out that the Russian intervention in Syria alarmed mainly the Turkish state which has downed the Russian plane because clearance of the Jarablus-Azaz line of gang groups goes against its own interests. Çiyakurd underlined that; "Turkey didn't expect such a harsh and extensive reaction and reflex from Russia which conducted airstrikes to eliminate the gangs close to Turkey and other powers, and to force the rest to make an alliance with the regime. Turkey united all the gang groups affiliated to it after they suffered heavy blows in these attacks. All the other sides thinking like Turkey ended up in the same situation as their plans were all frustrated. Turkey got into a panic in the face of the response by Russia after the downing of its jet. The Russian state which has already imposed sanctions on Turkey in military, political and economic aspect will further make an effort to expose and isolate the Turkish state's policies in the international arena."
‘QSD IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ACTOR OF DEMOCRATIC SYRIA'
Stating that the role of Kurds for the democratization of Syria has came into prominence in the international arena, Çiyakurd said; "No side relies anymore on the accomplishment of a plan that excludes Kurds. It is Kurds and the Syrian Democratic Forces they lead that gives the most effective fight against ISIS gangs and inflicts blows on them. The Turkish state has mobilized all the gang groups to attack the Kurdish regions in Efrîn and Aleppo after seeing the fact that Kurds are becoming a major actor in both Syria and international arena. On the other hand, Erdoğan and AKP both of whom are well-known with their enmity towards Rojava, are attacking Rojava and its values at every opportunity. It is obvious that Turkey is after a provocation as its conducts attacks along the borderline, has gang groups attack Rojava, wants to create a conflict by putting collaborative sides such as ENKS into operation, and conducting attacks itself. This is not an acceptable case."
Çiyakurd pointed to QSD's succeeding initiative in a process when Syria is discussed in the international arena, and emphasized that; "QSD has received a major support from the peoples of Syria and all other circles, because of which it now stands as the leading force with which international powers want to make an alliance against terror. Whoever needs to succeed against gangs in Syria feels the need to be in dialogue and alliance with QSD which has proved successful against gang groups."
'TURKISH STATE SUSTAINS RELATIONS WITH THE ANTI-KURD REGIME'
TEV-DEM executive stated that they expect to be granted participation in the meetings to take place in the international arena from now on as a consequence of these developments. He added that; "The Turkish state which doesn't desire democratization in Syria, nor can tolerate the defeat of gangs, is on the other hand sustaining its already present relations with the old regime against Kurds. Turkey is also mobilizing all its capability to hinder Kurds from attaining status in the international arena. However, it is obvious that these efforts will achieve no results as the Turkish state's dirty relations is now known to everyone who clearly states that the Turkey is attacking Rojava to disallow the defeat of gang groups in Syria."
