KCK’s Karasu: The Turkish government without a solution will fall

KCK Executive Council Member Mustafa Karasu stated that the AKP-MHP fascism can’t resolve the issues in Turkey and added that the will to end this will emerge on May 1.

KCK Executive Council Member Mustafa Karasu stated that however much oppression and violence they implement, the AKP-MHP government will remain without a solution, because the source of issues can’t be the force for a solution: “There may be a lot of oppression, coercion and violence, we are experiencing a period of intensified oppression and tyranny, but the forces of democracy among the peoples of Turkey and the Kurdish people will certainly come together against this and take down the AKP-MHP government.”

KCK Executive Council Member Mustafa Karasu spoke to the ANF for May 1 International Workers’ Day. Karasu said May 1 has become a day to fight for freedom and democracy not just for workers and laborers but the whole of humanity, and a day to look to the future with the hope for a free and democratic life: “The spirit of May 1 has always stood up tall. May 1 kept the peoples’ and workers’ spirit for equality, justice, freedom, unity and solidarity alive. Today, the spirit of May 1 is alive and well.”

THERE CAN BE MORE HOPE

Karasu said now there can be more hope on May 1 for the future because capitalism is on its last legs: “Capitalism is a cancer on humanity, it consumes all social, material and spiritual values. Capitalims is the enemy of workers and humanity. A more equal world without exploitation is not far away.”

TAKING A BLADE TO CAPITALISM’S CRISIS

Karasu pointed out that right wing parties have risen to power in many countries in recent years, and stated that “social democratic” governments can no longer fulfill the longings of the people as they try to soften capitalism and present a more palatable version to the public, and they can no longer resolve the crises created by capitalism. As a result, Karasu said, right wing governments rise to power, and elaborated: “Right wing parties will try to resolve the issues the social democrats failed at with harsh, strict and sharp methods, through coercion. In a way it is like taking a blade to capitalism’s crisis. It is a search for a solution through harsher, more oppressive and more exploitative ways. But this is the final search. Right wing governments will also fail at resolving capitalism’s issues. Because it is impossible for the creators of the problem to resolve it.”

TRUE ANTI-CAPITALISTS WILL COME

Karasu said the coming decades will see the flourishing of revolutionary socialist struggle, and added that after the period when right wing governments run into a bind, as social democrats or reformists will not be able to take power, true anti-capitalist parties that propose political, social and economic alternatives to capitalism will be in the governments everywhere.

STATIST SYSTEM ALSO IN CRISIS

Karasu argued that both capitalism and the statist system will fail in the coming decades and continued: “Because at the point we’re in, we are not only experiencing a crisis in capitalism but also in the five thousand year old statist system. Capitalism has only deepened this crisis, rotted society down and hit rock bottom. Thus, this May 1 the fight against capitalism will rise further. The crises caused by capitalism will be voiced more. Workers and all of humanity will shout out loud that capitalism is insoluble.”

HEAVIER BURDEN IN THE MIDDLE EAST

Karasu said with this global picture, the burden is heavier in the Middle East and stated that the 5 thousand year old statist system’s crisis and capitalism’s crisis in the Middle East have come together and created an imposition of a political, social and cultural way of life unacceptable for the peoples. Karasu said that the peoples have also put forth the choice of a communal democratic life in the World War III in place in the Middle East: “Now, peoples have an option in the line of Leader Apo against capitalism and the statist system. The alternative to the statist system, a new understanding of governance and a new system, democratic confederalism sprouts and grows in the Kurdish people’s fight for freedom in the line of Leader Apo in the Middle East. This is humanity’s search for a new emergence in the Middle East.”

THE CRISIS IN TURKEY GAINS DIMENSION

Karasu stressed that as the crisis deepens in the Middle East, the crisis in Turkey also gains dimension and the Kurdish people’s fight against fascism has put the colonialist system in a bigger crisis, and that as a response the genocidal system in Turkey has set up an unprecedented fascist order and intensified their attacks. Karasu continued: “That actually shows the weakness, not the strength, of the fascist AKP government in Turkey and their approach to overcome problems with violence. The AKP-MHP fascism will fail to resolve Turkey’s issues. However much oppression and violence they implement, the AKP-MHP government will remain without a solution. Our people and the peoples of Turkey are against the AKP-MHP fascism, they don’t accept it. There may be a lot of oppression, coercion and violence, we are experiencing a period of intensified oppression and tyranny, but the forces of democracy among the peoples of Turkey and the Kurdish people will certainly come together against this and take down the AKP-MHP government. This May 1 will develop the understanding of a joint struggle with the Kurdish people further among the peoples of Turkey, and the creation of joint platforms for their will to emerge. This May 1 will be a day when the peoples of Turkey and the Kurdish people will increase the struggle against the AKP-MHP fascism and a resolve and a will will emerge.”

CALL TO INCREASE THE STRUGGLE

KCK Executive Council Member Mustafa Karasu called on the peoples of Turkey, workers and the Kurdish people for May 1: “On May 1, we are calling on workers and peoples to develop the understanding of a joint struggle against the AKP fascism with the fighting spirit of unity and solidarity, to build joint platforms for the struggle, and to increase the struggle against the AKP-MHP fascism in this sense. If the peoples of Turkey and forces of democracy join together with the Kurdish people, the year 2018 will be a year when Turkey’s working class peoples will take down AKP-MHP fascism together with the oppressed Kurdish people and open the way for a democratic administration in Turkey.”
