Erdoğan has officially started a civil war

Erdoğan first said “attack with the spirit of mobilization.” Then, he said “we must be ruthless, since we are waging the second war of independence.”

Erdoğan first said “attack with the spirit of mobilization.” Then, he said “we must be ruthless, since we are waging the second war of independence.” Afterwards, he said “I call upon everyone to participate in our spirit of mobilization and war of independence. Those that do not join will be viewed as FETÖ members and prosecuted in our independent courts.”

For the past two days, shops of Kurds are being burnt down…

Non-governmental organizations of Kurds are incinerated…

Kurds’ houses, cities, village and shops are burnt down…

Kurdish politicians, parliamentarians and mayors are arrested…

Kurdish women are shot, killed, arrested and dragged on the ground without their clothes on…

Kurdish youths are massacred…

Kurdish children are left without parents, a house, food and water in a manner destroying the future of a people…

Kurds’ mountains, plains and forests are bombarded, burnt and poisoned with chemical weapons…

As I write these sentences, HDP buildings are incinerated and bombed. Smoke rises from nearly all HDP buildings across Turkey.

Moreover, all of these murderers, arsonists, racists and fascists pose in front of cameras before, during and after they set HDP buildings on fire.

“We are going to HDP buildings, we will burn them to the ground. We will shoot and kill everyone in our path. We are going to carry out the command of our state, Interior Minister and president.” Some of them smile and others burst into laughter as they say these words. Hatred oozes out of their eyes, mouths and souls. Many of these monsters, that say “I am going to kill and destroy” also state their first and last names, residences and the neighborhood they live in.

Yes, Kurdish genocide has officially began after the order of Erdoğan. Civil war has not started though. This is not because Erdoğan’s followers are “good guys,” but because Kurds have not resorted to violence yet. Despite having a knife put on their throat, Kurds continue to keep calm. But for how long will they do so? Erdoğan and the Turkish state are playing a very dangerous game. It is dangerous to play with fire, but Erdoğan seems like he forgot this saying. However, one should really not play with fire. Flames will not identify who lit them and burn everyone and everything.

Does Erdoğan know this? We are not sure, but we think he does not. If he did, would he have brought his country to the brink of a civil war? One more step beyond is a civil war, where nobody wins. Yes, everybody loses. Civil wars are not military campaigns or battles where two armies clash. It is a dirty war of enmity in which peoples, women, youth army take up arms and kill one another.

You will eventually lose such wars no matter how much you threaten, get angry or use your army and position of dictatorship. This is because there are no winners of wars of genocide and civil war where people strangle one another. You will not win such wars if you kill all of the ‘others.’ On the contrary, you will lose more.

Does Erdoğan know this? We are not sure. But if he does not, he should come to a realization, and if he does, he should give up on this dirty war that will bring the end of everyone. He will not win but only lose. Any sensible person would not consider this crime and participate in a lose-lose war.

If Erdoğan thinks he can break the will of Kurdish people, he should give up on this thought because it simply is wrong. He should stop thinking “I will take Kurds’ will hostage in the North and finish off the PKK. I will side with the tribe in the South and therefore guarantee Shengal, Mosul and even Kirkuk. With the support of Barzani, I will conquer Rojava.” This thought is nothing more than a dream, an utopia that only racist Turkish state officials believe in.

At this point, finishing the PKK, breaking the will of Kurdish people, conquering Rojava with the support of Barzani, interfering in Mosul and Kirkuk through the alliance with ISIS, and pursuing the dream of Raqqa are not possible. This is what Erdoğan and the Turkish state ignore. Nobody will support the resurrection of pan-Ottomanism in the region.

Therefore, Erdoğan should think about the fate of other politicians such as Enver, Cemal and Talat pashas who also were after their ambitions. As a lover of Ottomans, he should know very well the story of the three pashas and how they failed when they got on an ambitious adventure. Just to warn him, the pashas caused the fall of the Ottoman Empire when they were trying to expand the empire to the rest of the world…
