Diyarbakir prepares for 'Democratic Autonomy' meeting

While the preparations for the 'Democratic Autonomy' meeting, which will be organized in Diyarbakýr tomorrow by Democratic Society Congress (DTK), are continuing, a participation call was made during the work in Center Baðlar, Sur, Kayapýnar and Yeniþehir Districts.

The preparations for the 'Democratic Autonomy' meeting to be organized in Diyarbakýr on 13 January by Democratic Society Congress (DTK) are continuing. A kind of mobilization has been started in Diyarbakýr for the meeting that will be staged with the slogan “Let’s judge the deniers of our language, let’s establish the Democratic Autonomy”. On the other hand, participation calls are being issued during workings round the clock. While workings are proceeding in four central districts, BDP Sur Organization made visits to neighborhoods and shopkeepers to appeal to the meeting. A group of BDP (Peace and Democracy Party) members including BDP Diyarbakir Provincial Head Mehmet Ali Aydýn and BDP Sur district administration visited 23 coffee houses starting from Urfa Gate till Melikahmet Street. Holding a short speech for the people during the visit, Provincial Head M. Ali Aydýn emphasized that Kurdish people have been left facing a life under pressure, cruelty and exploitation for years. Stating that Kurds are an inoffensive people, Aydýn reminded that the people who do politics for their language, culture and identity are put in prisons for this reason under the name of KCK. Aydýn recorded that they are calling everybody to the meeting of DTK on 13 January at Station Square. It was said that the meeting workings in Sur District will last till late this night.
