Saturday Mothers were on the streets for the 326th times to ask to know the fate of their loved ones who forcibly disappeared and to punish those responsible for their disappearance.
They carried the banner saying “Perpetrators are obvious, where are the disappeared people,” in front of Galatasaray High School, in the centre of Taksim and Ýstanbul as well.
The Mothers announced that some of members will be also in front of the Education Institute in Kars to support 103 years Mother Berfo, who has been searching for his son’s body, Cemil Kýrbayýr, since September 3, 1980, when he had been taken into custody in Kars. Cemil Kýrbayýr is the first missing person that the government admitted that he had been tortured to kill when he was in police custody.
The Mothers also called the government to sign the international agreement on protecting people from being forcibly disappeared.
Hediye Coþkun, mother of Abdurrahman Coþkun, addressed the crowd and told of her 16 year search for her son. Police detained Abdurrahman Coþkun in Mardin in 1995 and no one has heard from him since then.
