KCDK-E is organizing its first ecology workshop today and tomorrow, 22 December, in Freiburg. The workshop, which will be held at Vigelius Hall, will discuss ecological destruction in Kurdistan and worldwide, organizing ecological struggles, and potential solutions within the framework of the Kurdish freedom movement’s "Democratic, Ecological, and Women’s Liberationist" paradigm.
The workshop is organized by the KCDK-E Ecology Committee, and will see the participation of KCDK-E member federations and components across Europe, as well as TJK-E, Jineoloji, Teko-Jin, and the Revolutionary Youth Movement.
During the first session, the ecological paradigm advocated by the Kurdish freedom movement and the societal ecology perspective offered by Abdullah Öcalan to address today’s ecological crises will be discussed. The second session will focus on the "Concept and Perspective of Ecology."
The third session, titled "Women and Ecology," will explore the link between ecological freedom and women’s liberation, emphasizing how domination over women has led to domination over nature and examining the role of women in ecological struggles.
The fourth session, titled "Ecological Destruction Policies in Kurdistan and the Middle East and Struggles Against Them," will highlight the ecological destruction policies implemented in Kurdistan from the past to the present, particularly those intensified as a war strategy during the AKP era.
On the second day of the workshop, experiences of ecological struggles in Rojava will be shared via Skype. The final session will focus on discussions about organizing models and planning for ecological struggles in Europe.
