Rıza City Academy (RSA) announced that they will launch the encyclopedia software campaign on 27 April with the slogan "Alevis write their own encyclopedia!".
The RSA said in a statement that the Alevi encyclopedia aims to help Alevis preserve their history, belief, culture and memory and carry them into the future.
RSA stated that the history, culture and belief of Alevis have been written by the sovereigns and those in power, and that this situation aims to erase the Alevi memory and create their own Alevism.
"The Alevi Encyclopedia is an attempt to create a permanent, reliable, polyphonic source of information that opens the door to different academic approaches, evaluates the cultural richness of the Alevi community from different perspectives, brings together international academic-intellectual circles working on Alevism, and creates a permanent, reliable, polyphonic source of information with scientific methods and tools," the statement said.
It was also stated that the encyclopedia aims to carry the reality of Alevism into the future by covering the history, sociology, anthropology, culture-art, literature, geography, theology and politics of Alevism.
Within the scope of the campaign, activities such as workshops, conferences and seminars will be organised and cooperation with the academic world will be established.
The RSA pointed out that the aim of the Alevi Encyclopedia is to protect Alevi culture, history, faith values and teachings against assimilation and called on every Alevi to participate in the campaign with the "One Euro for One Word" bite.
The launch event for the campaign will take place from 13.00 to 15.00 on 27 April at Körnebachstraße 49-51, 44143 Dortmund.
