5th Painting Art Symposium in Tabqa

The 5th Painting Art Symposium is taking place in Tabqa. The 5-day meeting will last until Thursday.

The 5th Painting Art Symposium began on 3 May in Tabqa under the slogan “Towards the rhythm of Syria’s colors.” A total of 31 painters and sculptors from Northern and Eastern Syria as well as other regions of Syria attended it. Through their works, the artists have portrayed not only social issues but also themes such as resistance, identity, women's struggles, and nature.

At the symposium, paintings and drawings were created to depict the resistance of the people of the region, most notably the resistance at the Tishrin Dam and the battle of Kobanê, as well as the suffering endured by the people in Syria’s coastal regions.

In addition, sculptures inscribed with the slogan 'Jin Jiyan Azadî' (Woman, Life, Freedom) were exhibited alongside works that captured the beauty of the Euphrates River and the rich natural landscape of Syria.

An official delegation from the Autonomous Administration, consisting of Hisên Osman, co-chair of the Executive Council, and Elî Hico, co-chair of the Interior Department, visited the symposium during its third day.

The symposium will continue until Thursday, 8 May, and the artworks produced during the event will be exhibited afterward at the Rojava Art Exhibition.
