DEM Party to guard the ballot boxes with thousands of polling station attendants

The DEM Party will guard the ballot boxes with thousands of polling station attendants in tomorrow's local elections in Kurdistan and Turkey.

ELECTION SAFETY

People in Turkey and North Kurdistan will go to the polls tomorrow for local elections. People will be able to vote between 07.00-16.00 in Kurdistan and between 08.00-17.00 in Turkey. The election bans determined by the Supreme Board of Elections (YSK) start at 17.00 today. While the AKP-MHP government has moved soldiers and police officers to many cities of Kurdistan, unsealed ballot papers, invalidated votes and fraud recorded in previous elections increase the importance of election security.

AMED

The Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) has finalised its election security activities especially in Kurdistan cities. The DEM Party will be in the field and guard the ballot boxes in Amed (Diyarbakır) and neighbouring cities with nearly 15 thousand people consisting of polling station attendants, observers, school supervisors, mobile teams, people authorised to object, party executives and volunteers.

In 3,968 ballot boxes to be set up in Amed, 1 million 164 thousand voters will vote for metropolitan municipality, 18 district and town municipalities and mukhtar elections.

The DEM Party will also ensure ballot box security with 1,67 school officers and 150 lawyers.

BATMAN

In Batman province and its districts, 411 thousand 11 voters will go to the polls. 310,667 people will vote in 939 ballot boxes to be set up in the city centre. The DEM Party will employ 1,500 polling station attendants and observers in 939 polling stations. In addition to two supervisors in each school, travelling delegations of 200 people have been formed. These travelling delegations will include 80 lawyers. During the vote counting process at the YSK, 50 people will be on duty.

DERSİM

In the centre of Dersim, 24,622 voters will go to the polls. Voters will vote in 80 ballot boxes in 16 schools. Each school will have a polling station attendant and an observer, as well as supervisors. In the city, 18 people, mostly lawyers, will be in charge of objections. In the districts, in addition to polling station attendants, observers, school supervisors and people authorised to object will be in charge of all polling stations. Nearly 400 people will be on the field in the city centre and districts for ballot security on election day.

BİNGÖL

198 thousand 436 voters will go to the polls in Bingöl, with 115, 594 people voting in the city centre. The DEM Party will guard the 397 ballot boxes in the city centre with 400 people. In the district of Karlıova and villages, 18,475 people will vote at 76 ballot boxes. 150 people will be in charge of the polling stations, including attendants, observers and persons authorised to object.

ELAZIĞ

In the Karakoçan district of Elazığ, a total of 22.350 voters, 11.650 in the centre, will go to the polls. Voting will be held at 121 ballot boxes, including those in the villages. The DEM Party will assign one polling station attendant for each ballot box and 250 people will be at the polling station together with the observers. Another 21 people, mostly lawyers, will be authorised to object.

SİİRT

In the centre of Siirt province, 107,643 voters will cast their votes in 376 ballot boxes. The DEM Party will ensure the security of the ballot boxes with 650 ballot box committee members, 112 school supervisors, 200 observers and 120 people (40 of them lawyers) authorised to object.
