Three-day Long March launched in southern France

The march is organized every year to condemn the international conspiracy that resulted in the capture of Abdullah Öcalan in Kenya and his handover to Turkey on 15 February 1999.

A three-day Long March was launched in southern France as part of the “Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan, a Political Solution to the Kurdish Question” campaign.

The march is organized every year to condemn the international conspiracy that resulted in the capture of the Kurdish leader in Kenya and his handover to Turkey on 15 February 1999.

The demonstration kicked off in front of Martigues Town Hall on Thursday.

Following a minute of silence in memory of the martyrs of the Kurdistan revolution, press statements were made in Kurdish, French and Turkish.

The activists highlighted the need to ensure the physical freedom of Abdullah Öcalan and to achieve a democratic solution to the Kurdish question.

Participants from Draguignan, Montpellier, Avignon and Marignane are participating in the march.

The march, which sees the participation of 123 people, will end in front of the Marignane City Hall on the first day.

The activists distributed leaflets demanding “Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan, Status for Kurdistan” and conveyed the demands of the Kurdish people to the French people.

The second day of the march will start in Marignane and end in La Viste, at the entrance to Marseille.

On the third day, a central march will take place in Marseille city center with the participation of thousands of people.
