Fighters of the YPG-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) that are advancing towards the Tabqa city in the Operation Wrath of Euphrates have liberated the Tabqa airport at 20:00 local time Sunday evening.

The strategic airport was under ISIS control since it was captured from the Syrian regime in 2014.

Tabqa airbase is the second airport liberated by SDF who had taken control of the Minix Airport south of Azaz last year.
