Political prisoners Saman Naseem, and brothers Ali Efşarî and Habîbullah Efşarî in Urmia prison have been executed by the Islamic Republic of Iran.

While Naseem's lawyer has confirmed the execution of the Kurdish political prisoner despite all the calls by human rights organizations, worrying wait continues for three other Kurdish prisoners on death row.

Naseem's lawyer stated that regime officials called them to go to the prison to take his belongings, and that his body will be given later as official procedures cannot be implemented today which is a public holiday.

Naseem who was arrested at the age of 17, charged with membership to PJAK (Free Life Party of Kurdistan) and perpetrating actions against the Iranian regime, has been executed despite the fact that the testimony he gave under heavy torture wasn't accepted by the court hearing his case. Repeated calls for urgent action to stop the execution of Naseem has been voiced up to date.

Human rights defenders in Iran and East Kurdistan are now calling for urgent action for other prisoners on death row.

In the meantime, brothers Ali Efşarî and Habîbullah Efşarî have also been executed today. The Efşarî family has been informed today that the bodies of the two brothers could be reclaimed today.
