TOPRAK: AKP IS LAYING THE GROUNDWORK OF THE PRESIDENCY REGIME

Former CHP parliamentarian Binnaz Toprak also spoke during the press conference and said that the AKP’s proposal was against the parliament’s bylaws and the constitution. Toprak recalled that the AKP parliamentarians whose corruption became public during the 17-25 December process were not investigated, and the AKP proposal to lift the immunities of HDP parliamentarians would render the parliament as dysfunctional. She added that with its proposal, AKP was laying the groundwork of the presidency regime and would slide Turkey into chaos.

'CHP’S ATTITUDE IS INCOMPREHENSIBLE'

TEMELLİ: PROSECUTORS’ ARBITRARY STANCE IS DIFFICULT TO PREDICT

Former HDP parliamentarian Sezai Temelli emphasized that the AKP’s proposal was unconstitutional and paved the way for Erdoğan’s presidency regime. Temelli stated the prosecutors’ arbitrary stance was difficult to predict and the lifting of immunities was an attempt to silence all opposition groups in Turkey.
