House of Kurdish students targeted by armed attack in Istanbul

An armed attack has targeted the house of a group of Kurdish students in Karabük district of Istanbul last night.

An armed attack has targeted the house of a group of Kurdish students in Karabük district of Istanbul last night.

Six bullets were fired into the house of the pro-HDP students on the ground floor in Beşbinevler neighborhood of Karabük. The assailants swiftly fled the scene after the attack which luckily caused no casualties but left the house greatly damaged.

Police teams made investigation at the scene of the attack which came in the middle of the night and also drew reaction from the local people

In a statement condemning the attack, HDP Karabük branch pointed out that the dimension of the increasingly ongoing attacks againt the HDP is growing more and more every day ahead of the 7 June general elections with an aim to create fear and panic among the whole society and hinder the peoples' awakening and right to vote.

HDP Karabük branch vowed to pursue the attacks and carry on efforts in order for the disclosure of the forces behind them.
