Civil Defense Units (Yekîneyên Parastina Sivilan-YPS) has released a statement providing details regarding the situation in Cizre where dozens of people remain trapped in a basement for 11 days.

'THE HOUSE IS TARGETED BY UNILATERAL FIRE'

The statement underlined that there were no YPS units deployed around the mentioned house in Cudi neighborhood, and that there was no fighting taking place in the area. According to the statement, forces of the AKP state are firing on the house unilaterally for the last 10 days.

'THEY FABRICATE NEWS TO JUSTIFY THE MASSACRE'

YPS remarked that the Turkish media fabricated news and spread lies in order justify the mass killing suffered by the people in the basement.

'THE WOUNDED MAY HAVE BEEN EXECUTED'

The statement continued; "It is understood that AKP state's forces conducted an operation on this house and occupied it on 30 January. The civilian people inside were most likely executed. In a contrary case, some news certainly would have been received from the people in that basement during the past 3 days. We state clearly that there has taken place no fighting around the house in question which is being targeted by unilateral attacks of AKP state's forces. We also announce that we are ready to provide any contribution for an observation and investigation by impartial delegations in order for the exposure of the truth."

'THE STATE MANIPULATES THE SOCIETY'

YPS pointed out that the AKP state is engaged in manipulation and misinformation of the society through fabricated news on this matter, citing a recent report of a Serbian sniper arrested while fighting in the ranks of YPS in Amed's Sur district, which was obviously a lie.
