The General Coordination of Civil Defense Units (YPS) has released a statement detailing the enduring resistance for self-rule in Nusaybin and Şırnak where 24 members of Turkish special operations forces were killed.

YPS also announced the ID details of 3 fighters who fell fighting in Nusaybin, and provided the following information;

NUSAYBİN

In Mardin's Nusaybin district, YPS units hit and heavily damaged two diggers working for state forces in two separate actions conducted on April 25 and 27.

2 more members of Turkish forces were killed while attempting to get into a house at 06:00 in the morning of April 27 when also 1 special operations police (PÖH) was killed on Çaxçax road at 16:30. In the evening, YPS units hit state forces that headed towards their positions, which left 1 special operations gendarme (JÖH) dead.

State forces' 2 more members were killed in a park in Weysika area at 06:00, and 1 other on Kordon Street at 16:30 on April 26.

In another action, YPS units hit a tank as it advanced toward Kartopu Street in Şehit Gelhat neighborhood on April 26. The tank got damaged as a result of rocket fire and retreated, and 2 special operations gendarmes were killed.

At 13:00 in the afternoon, YPS units hit and destroyed a digger as it advanced into Şehit Gelhat neighborhood, which left 2 members of Turkish forces dead. YPS units also damaged a tank in the same neighborhood on April 27.

3 other members of state forces were killed while trying to advance into Kartopu neighborhood the same day.

The statement announced the following ID details of 3 YPS fighters martyred in Alika neighborhood on April 24;

ŞIRNAK

In the province of Şırnak, YPS units conducted a sabotage action against state forces trying to get deployed in a house in Bahçelievler neighborhood on April 27. The reinforcement groups that rushed to the scene were also hit by YPS fighters. The exact number of the casualties in the first action couldn't be made clear, and only 1 dead could be verified from the second action.

In another action in Yeni neighborhood, YPS members hit a bus carrying Turkish forces. The bus was destroyed with rocket fire and detailed information on the casualties will be announced later.

4 special operations police (PÖH) were shot also dead by YPS units.

On April 24, YPS units hit a tank that conducted bombardments on Bahçelievler and Yeni neighborhoods. The weapon of the tank was destroyed as a result of rocket fire and the tank was forced to retreat with damage. 1 special operations gendarme (JÖH) was also killed.
