YPG (People's Defense Units) Press Office has released a statement refuting claims put forward by a Turkish daily today about the German YPG fighter Dilsoz Bahar (Kevin Jochim) recently martyred in Rojava.

YPG recalled that hundreds of foreign fighters from various countries across the world came to Rojava and joined their ranks in the fight against ISIS, underlining that this fight was being given to protect not only Kurdistan but also the values of humanity.

Remarking that some Turkish press agencies published reports to defame the brave combatants of the self-sacrificing fight against ISIS gangs, the statement said the incredible claims put forward by the Turkish daily Milliyet against YPG fighter Dilsoz Bahar (Kevin Jochim) were an example of this smear campaign against members of the YPG.

Quoting their previous statements, YPG Press Office recalled that Dilsoz Bahar had come to Rojava and joined YPG ranks in early 2015 and lost his life in a clash with ISIS gangs in the Şergirat village near Silûk town on 6th July, 2015, as was also announced by YPG in a statement dated July 13th.

YPG refuted the unfounded and fabricated reports by Turkish daily Milliyet which accused Dilsoz Bahar of being an agent and claimed that he died in an airstrike of the Turkish state in Qandil area of PKK-held Medya Defense Zones. YPG noted that the daily withdrew the report a while later.

YPG condemned the Turkish daily on this lie and fabricated news, and urged it to apologize to Dilsoz Bahar's family and the Kurdish people.
