Police forces that staged a bloody crackdown on local people in Silopi district of Şırnak yesterday also tortured the wounded civilians whom they detained from the hospital.
According to Mesopotamian Lawyers Association member Zozan Açar, police detained nine people who were rushed to hospital with injuries during the conflict that lasted all day long.
The people wounded in the conflict and taken to hospital for treatment were detained by police teams who insulted them as 'Armenian seeds' before forcing them into armored vehicles and taking them to the police quarters.
Among the youths, one was taken back to hospital after losing consciousness while under police custody. It has been learned that policemen put a gun into the youth's mouth and anus, and battered him on the head with a gun.
Those taken into custody include a severely injured youth and an old man who brought the wounded to the hospital.
Lawyer Açar voiced concerns over the safety of the detainees all of whom -she said- they learned have been tortured under police custody.
