One killed, another wounded in police attack at Amed's Dağkapı Square

Police forces have opened fire on masses that gathered at Amed's Dağkapı Square today noon to protest the ongoing siege and onslaught by Turkish state forces in Sur district.

Large numbers of people have gathered at Amed's Dağkapı Square today noon upon a call by provincial organisations of DBP and HDP.

According to initial reports, one woman has been killed and a youth has been wounded in the armed attack by police whose presence in the area remains since the murder of Amed Bar President Tahir Elçi on 28 November.

The body of the slain woman remains at Dağkapı Square.
