Local people on vigil against military activity in Erzurum

Hundreds of local people have started vigil in the rural area in Karayazı district of Erzurum on hearing about preparations for an operation by the Turkish army.

Hundreds of local people have started vigil in the rural area in Karayazı district of Erzurum on hearing about preparations for an operation by the Turkish army.

The vigil has been started by some a thousand people who will be holding vigil in the rural area of Geventepe (Reşa Sebrî) neighborhood in Karayazı during the night in order to act as human shields in a probable operation. The local people took action in the face of an intense activity by the Turkish military in the region, and reports of soldier dispatchment from Erzurum, Malazgirt, Muş and Tutak.

Among the crowd waiting in the rural area are co-mayors, and HDP (Peoples' Democratic Party) and DBP (Party of Democratic Regions) executives of Erzurum, Tekman, Karayazı, Karaçoban, Hınıs, Karayazı and Karaçoban.
