As the state forces' genocidal attacks in Şırnak continue non-stop for 37 uninterrupted days, a group of 40 special operations police (PÖH) was targeted by YPS units as they got into a 8-storey building in Bahçelievler neighborhood yesterday.
The building collapsed on one side as a result of a blast that hit the special operations police group here, which left dozens of PÖH members dead. Two images from the scene show that the building collapsed on the front side while its back side suffered a remarkable damage.
While local sources report that a number of corpses have been retrieved from the building, Turkish official sources say one sergeant and one specialist sergeant died, while 4 other members of Turkish forces were wounded.
The General Coordination of Civil Defense Units (YPS), on the other hand, reported earlier today that 30 PÖH members died and 10 others were wounded as a result of a sabotage action conducted by their side.
On the other hand, clashes have intensified in İsmetpaşa, Yeni and Cumhuriyet neighborhoods as of early this morning. Alongside the ongoing fighting, bombardment of the mentioned neighborhoods has also intensified.
The city has witnessed an intense ambulance and helicopter activity throughout the day.
