People’s Defense Forces (HPG) Press Office reported that the ground and aerial operations of the Turkish army against HPG/YJA Star guerrillas, who remain in a position of inaction, continue ceaselessly.

HPG reported that as the operation of the Turkish army in Binbir area of Hakkari's Yüksekova district continues, Turkish warplanes and Cobra type helicopters shelled Hill Martı in Çarçella are at between 23:00 on October 23 and 01:00 on October 24. Simultaneously with the aerial bombardment, Turkish troops bombarded Hill Martı from ground with mortars, howitzers and tanks as well. Turkish jets have once again started to Shell Çarçella area intensely as of this morning.

In the meantime, Turkish forces conduct intense bombardment at the border line of Avashin area in PKK-held Medya Defense Zones in South Kurdistan territory, where an operation of the Turkish military is going on.

HPG reported that Turkish war planes shelled Martyr Rahime and Maryr Afat hills at between 21.00 - 00.00 on October 23.

Regarding the bombardments launched by military posts with howitzers, tanks and mortars, HPG provided the following details:

Oremar military post at the border to Medya Defense Zones shelled hills Martyr Gafur and Martyr Rahime starting from 12:00 on October 23.

Grana military post shelled the areas of Mergê, Hill Mamreşo, Grana, Herguş and Sılor village at between 06.00 - 07.00 and at 09:00 on October 23, and at between 05.30 - 07.00 on October 24.

Mamreş military post shelled Hill Ronahi area at between 16:00 on October 23 and 02:30 October 24.

Bezelê military post shelled Hill Sor, Hill Spi, Hill Martyr Sileyman, Gundê Erdewê and Gundê Bêdewê areas at between 02.00 - 02.30 and 06.00 - 06.30 on October 24.

According to the HPG statement, clashes broke out between guerrillas and an operational force of the Turkish army on Hill Zerdeşt at 08:00 on October 23. Four Turkish soldiers were killed in the clash after which Turkish troops shelled the areas of Martyr Rahime, Martyr Afat and Dola Satê.

HPG further reported that the Turkish soldiers engaged in activity in Martyr Rahime area were effectively hit by guerrillas at 12:00 on October 24. While the Turkish troop withdrew from the area, Turkish unmanned vehicles have been conducting intense reconnaissance flights over the area.

OPERATION IN MUTKI

HPG reported that the operation launched by Turkish troops in Xaçareş, Xapinok and Çırıngêz areas of Mutki district of Bitlis continues as well, adding that the operation is also being participated by guards from Deşta Xutê, Serê Golê, Tat, Oxin, Gêsan, Nokê and Xaçinan villages and Mutki town.

AERIAL ACTIVITIES AND BOMBARDMENTS

HPG gave the following information regarding the aerial activities and bombardments targeting guerrilla-held areas;

Hill Yekmal military post at Heftanin border has ceaselessly shelled Kato Sılê area near Bektorya region for four days now.

Serbesta military post at Metina border shelled Hill Kuroşino and its foothills at between 14.00 - 14.30 and 19.00 - 20.00 on October 23.

Eriş military post at Zap border shelled Çiyayê Reş, Gundê Sernê, Zerê village, Canmeda and Xeregol areas at between 13.00 - 18.00 on October 23 and at between 23:00 on Oct. 23 and 01:00 on Oct. 24.

Bilican military post shelled Castle Ertuş, Hill Martyr Cihat and foothills, Martyr Zeki, Martyr Derwêş and Hill Marytr Newal and its surroundings at between 20:00 on October 23 and 05:00 on October 24.

Gırê and 49 military posts shelled Hill Martyr Mazlum, Dola Feqira and Sırtê Bêtkar areas at between 14.00 - 21.00 on October 23.

Sındırêk and Beyaz Çeşme military posts in Dicle district of Amed shelled Gorsê, Uçkula, Tünegrat, Tırêjman and Hill Ziyaret areas from noon till evening hours on October 23.

HPG reported reconnaissance flights carried out by Turkish unmanned vehicles over the following areas:

- Garê area at between 19:00 on October 23 and 05:30 on October 24,

- Zap region at between 22.00 on Oct. 23 and 01.00 on Oct. 24.

HPG said an activity of Turkish jets also took place over Zap region at between 21:00 and 02:00 last night.
