HDP (Peoples' Democratic Party), DBP (Party of Democratic Regions, formerly BDP), HDK (Peoples' Democratic Congress) and DTK (Democratic Society Congress) co-presidents and İmralı Negotiation Delegation held an emergency meeting on AKP’s implementation of war plans, recent political developments and the stance they would adopt in response.
In their joint statement, HDP, DBP, HDK, and DTK emphasized that AKP transformed into a cabinet of war and purposefully created a security crisis in order to play the savior’s role and continue its governing power, and called for mobilization in order to end the isolation of Öcalan.
'ERDOĞAN TRANSFORMED THE GOVERNMENT INTO A CABINET OF WAR'
HDP, DBP, HDK and DTK stated that Turkey was facing the military intervention of an organization run by Tayyip Erdoğan, and Erdoğan had transformed the government into a cabinet of war. The statement said that the AKP government that had been removed from its post by voters on June 5 has brought the country to the brink of war both inside and outside Turkey.
The joint statement by Kurdish parties and organizations noted that the path to war was paved with Erdoğan’s organization’s massacres in Adana, Mersin, Diyarbakır, Ardahan and Suruç, and the coming war targeted Kurdish people and the biggest democracy, peace, and labor bloc in Turkish history.
HDP, DBP, HDK and DTK emphasized that as ISIS targets democracy forces as it did in Suruç, AKP continues its alliance with ISIS with its operations of political genocide. Co-presidents of the parties noted that the AKP government targets forces that actively combat ISIS with its operations and executions, and uses the Suruç massacre it carried out as an excuse for these operations.
HDP, DBP, HDK and DTK highlighted the bans on meetings and protests as well as the censorship of press and social media as AKP attempts to prevent people’s opposition, and that AKP transformed into a cabinet of war and purposefully created a security crisis in order to play the savior’s role and continue its governing power,
'WE WILL NOT LET YOU WAGE WAR! '
Co-presidents affirmed their determination to struggle for peace and democracy as opposed to interventions and war policies, and promised to bring the perpetrators of massacres, war and robberies to justice.
HDP, DBP, HDK and DTK ended the statement by saying that they would not let AKP wage war, and called upon democracy forces to mobilize for stopping war and violence in the country, ending the isolation of Mr. Öcalan, and beginning negotiations for a lasting peace in Turkey.
