Fighters from Manbij: We ended ISIS occupation and liberated our city

Manbij Military Council fighters stated that they ended the 3 year long occupation of ISIS gangs and liberated the city.

The operation of Manbij Military Council fighters to liberate Manbij began on June 1 and resulted in victory on its 73rd day.

Fighters from Manbij spoke to ANF and stated that they participated in the operations with great morale. Manbij Military Council fighter Ebu Eli said that ISIS gangs attacked them with car bombs and carried out intensive mining and assassination activities. However, Eli noted that council fighters repelled the attacks of the gangs and ended the ISIS occupation in the city.

Ebu Eli stated that there are no longer any ISIS gangs in the city, and the brutal practices of the gangs such as the forced marriage of women ended. Eli said that he grew up in an impoverished neighborhood of Manbij and lived in the city until the ISIS occupation, and was now happy to the city liberated from the gangs.

Ebu Eli added that ISIS gangs executed 7 people from his family, and was happy to see the liberation of Manbij and his people from ISIS cruelty. Lastly, Ebu Eli called upon Arab youth to join the Manbij Military Council and struggle for the construction of a free and democratic Syria.

Faysal Yaser, another Manbij Military Council fighter, expressed his happiness at the liberation of Manbij and emphasized the role of the martyrs in this liberation. Yaser emphasized that the martyrs of Manbij should never be forgotten, and called upon all people of Manbij to join the process of constructing a free Manbij and democratic Syria.
