The Êzîdî people living on Mount Shengal have greeted the liberation of Shengal  town centre by Êzîdî and Kurdish forces yesterday.

People from the Êzîdî community, who were the target of the ISIS occupation and genocide in last year's August, stated that they have been waiting for this day ever since.

They said; "The victory of YBŞ and YPJ-Shengal forces has given us great morale and enthusiasm. The girls and boys of Êzîdî people took up arms and got organised strongly after the genocide they survived last year. Today, our children present a free Shengal to us. No happiness can be greater than this one. Our children avenge their sisters, mothers, families and relatives massacred by the gangs."
