Turkish army continues bombardments and reconnaissance flights in the guerrilla-held Medya Defense Zones.

People’s Defence Forces (HPG) Press Office reported in its daily statement that the Turkish military continues to carry out intense aerial activity over the guerrilla areas. HPG gave the following information regarding the reconnaissance flights of the Turkish unmanned Aerial vehicles;

-Over Qandil region of Medya Defence Zones, at between 11:00 - 13:00 on August 4 and at between 22:00 on August 4 and 06:30 on August 5,

-Over Zap region at between 20:00 on August 4 and 05:00 on August 5.

Concerning the flights of the Turkish jets, HPG gave the following information:

-Over Metina area at between 16:00 - 16:30 on August 4,

-Over Heftanin area at between 13:00 - 16:00 on August 4,

- Over Zap region at between 12:30 - 13:00, 14:00 - 16:30 and 20:00- 22:00 on August 4.

HPG went on reporting the bombardments launched by Turkish troops against the guerrilla controlled areas. Accordingly;

Bombardment with tanks launched from Tepê Memişta military post targeted Martyr Hozan area at the border line of Zagros region of Medya Defence Zones at between 16:00 - 17:00 on August 4 and at between 22:00 on August 4 and 02:00 on August 5.

Bombardment by Turkish jets targeted Martyr Brusk, Dola Kewê and Dola Mehendê areas in Zagros region at between 13:00 - 16:00 on August 4.

Bombardment howitzers, tanks and mortars launched from Bezelê military post at the border with Zagros region targeted Dêm Hill and Çarçella areas at between 13:00 - 18:00 on August 4.

Random fire was opened from Bezelê and Bêdevê military posts on the surrounding areas at between 15:00 - 17:00 on August 4. The two military posts also bombarded Salara Hill with howitzers and mortars at the same hours. Wild fire erupted in the region due to the bombardment.

Bombardment with howitzers, mortars and tanks launched from Gülyazı regiment and Tepê Maymun military post at the Heftanin border line targeted Martyr Kendal Hill at 15:00 on August 4.

Bombardment with howitzers, mortars and cluster bombs launched from Oremar military post in Yüksekova district of Hakkari targeted Maryr Gafur, Martyr Afat, Martyr Bager, Martyr Rahime and Kanîya Cınnetê areas at between 00:00 - 01:00 and 07:00 - 08:30 on August 5.

Bombardment with howitzers and mortars launched from Eriş military post at the border line of Zap region targeted Xeregol area, Şelale and Zêvê villages at between 12:00 - 14:30 on August 4.

Bombardment with howitzers, mortars and tanks launched from Eriş military post targeted Dola Şifreza, Hill Hakan, Şifreza and Canmeda areas at between 18:00 - 19:00 on August 4 and 00:00 - 01:00 on August 5.

Bombardment with howitzers, mortars and tanks launched from Bilican military post targeted Hill Güvenlik at between 20:00 - 22:00 on August 4.

Shelling by Turkish jets targeted Xeregol, Dola 82'an, Şelale and Canmeda areas at the border line with Zap region at between 14:00 - 16:00 on August 4,

Shelling by Turkish jets targeted Kaniya Cınnetê, Martyr Afad, Martyr Bager ve Martyr Rahime areas at the Avashin border line at between 14:30 - 15:30 on August 4.

Guerrilla actions against military posts

HPG further reported in its statement that guerrilla forces carried out retaliation attacks on some military posts.

Accordingly, guerrillas launched an attack on Oremar post in Yüksekova district of Hakkari with heavy weaponry at 08:30 on August 4. Mortar fires left damages in the military post while the casualties of the Turkish military could not be verified. Turkish troops from Oremar military post launched a bombardment with mortars and howitzers as a response targeting Martyr Gafur area at the Avashin border. Clashes with heavy weaponry lasted until 23:30.

HPG guerrillas also launched an attack with heavy weaponry on Eriş military post at the border line of Zap region at between 12:00-13:00 on August 4, while the number of the casualties of Turkish forces could not be clarified.

Reconnaissance flights by Iranian drones

HPG lastly reported that Iranian reconnaissance aircraft carried out flights over Hill Casusa and Hill Koordine at Qandil border line at between 22:00 on August 4 and 01:00 on August 5.
