HPG guerrillas attacked a police station in Dersim centre today, after which police forces clashed with guerrillas and randomly fired bullets on people in the streets.
Dersim co-mayor Nurhayat Altun told ANF about the situation in the city, saying that tension remained very high in the centre and the people continued waiting in the streets. Altun said police attacked on people from time to time, firing gas bombs and using pressurised water. Altun said she was having difficulties to speak because of intense tear gas fired by police.
Citing the reports they received, Altun said one guerrilla has died until now, while a woman and her 15 years old child were wounded. She reported an intense conflict in the city, and underlined that no one wanted to face such tensed situations anymore.
Altun stated that the only way to put an end to this tensed situation was to return to peace and negotiation process and that otherwise the tensions, clashes and deaths would not end.
On the other hand, one guerrilla who was heavily wounded in clashes has been taken under surgery, while four civilians have been reported wounded.
Turkish security forces also opened fire on an ambulance carrying the wounded to the hospital, which left a health technician wounded by a bullet in the throat.
While all the shops in the city have been closed down, people are reacting to the crackdown by security forces who are attacking civilians with anti-riot vehicles.
Entrances in the city are being held by Turkish forces.
Speaking to ANF, HDP deputy for Dersim, Alican Önlü, said that police forces in the station opened fire on the people who went to the scene of clashes to take care of the casualties.
Police forces reportedly continue targeting locals with arms.
