2 ISIS members arrested after crossing into Akçakale

Out of 5 ISIS gang members who were detained after crossing into Akçakale during the advance of the YPG/YPJ and Burkan Al Fırat forces towards the border gate on 15 June, 2 have been formally arrested by the court today.

Out of 5 ISIS gang members who were detained after crossing into Akçakale during the advance of the YPG/YPJ and Burkan Al Fırat forces towards the border gate on 15 June, 2 have been formally arrested by the court today.

5 gang members were detained while crossing the border in civilian clothes on 15 June. 3 of the detainees were released today on the grounds that they were Syrian citizens, while the other 2, who are from Kosovo, were referred to the prosecutor’s office. After giving their statements there, they were sent to the court, where they have been formally arrested on grounds of “being member of terrorist organisation, ISIS”. The arrested have reportedly been taken to a prison after the procedures in the court.
