A reporter for Women's News Agency (JINHA) was detained by police in Amed's central Sur district where a curfew remains in effect for 15 uninterrupted days.

Reporter Beritan Canözer was taken into custody while covering the march to Sur, which is being joined by thousands of people upon a call by DBP and HDP provincial organisations.

After gathering in Ofis area of central Yenişehir district, the thousands forced the police to remove the barriers after the beginning of the march by displaying a determined approach in the face of the obstacle. Thousands are marching from İstasyon Avenue to Sur district, chanting the slogan "Bijî berxwedana Sûrê" [Long Live the Resistance of Sûr].

As the march continues, policemen in Ofis area forced JINHA reporter Canözer into a Ford Ranger car, a common type of cars used by plainclothes policemen, and took her into custody.

While the other reporters in the area reacted to the detention, police said them that "We were told to do so". It is yet not known where Canözer has been taken to.
