The Kongra Star is preparing for the Rojava Kurdish Women's Consultation Meeting for women to be united against the Turkish attacks on Kurdistan. 50 organizations and parties will attend the meeting.
The Turkish army is escalating attacks on Rojava, South Kurdistan and Medya Defense Zones. Political parties and citizens are protesting against the attacks by taking to the streets on a daily basis.
In response to the Turkish aggression, Kongra Star is laying the groundwork for the Rojava Kurdish Women's Consultation Meeting. Kongra Star’s Relations Committee and preparatory committee member Pencewîn Elî said that the purpose of the meeting is to organize the reaction of Kurdish women against Turkish invasion attacks.
Pencewîn Elî pointed out that the role of women is very important in this process, saying, “The purpose of the meeting is to organize the reaction of the Kurdish women in Rojava in order to protect the gains of all women in Kurdistan.”
“The meeting will be held with the participation of 50 organizations, the Kurdish parties, artists and intellectuals in Rojava. Women's organizations and movements in Kurdistan and abroad can attend the meeting online. Political developments in Kurdistan, women's views and reactions concerning the occupation will be addressed during the meeting,” Pencewîn Elî added.
Pencewîn Elî added that the meeting would be held in Qamishlo, and the place and date of the meeting would be announced in the coming days.
