According to the news compiled by bianet from local and national newspapers, news websites and news agencies, men killed at least 29 women and raped at least two women in Turkey in April 2022.

In April, the deaths of at least 15 women (in Muğla (1), Manisa (1), Kastamonu (1), Mardin (1), Ordu (1), Isparta(1), Zonguldak (1), Maraş (1), Karaman (1), Bursa (1), İstanbul (1), Malatya (1), Aydın (1), Urfa (1), Kocaeli (1)) were reported in the press as suspicious.

Feminicide

In April 2022, men killed at least 29 women. Last April, this number was 17. Men also killed at least five men accompanying the women.

One of the women killed by men was a citizen of Azerbaijan, while one woman was a citizen of Uzbekistan.

Three men killed three women after getting out of prison on leave. Men killed at least seven women despite "protection" or "restraining" orders.

Men's "pretexts" for killing 12 women were not reported in the press. Men killed 12 women because "they wanted to break up or did not want to come back together". Men killed two women over the right of custody, two women during an inheritance dispute, two women "out of jealousy".

22 women were killed by their husbands, ex-husbands or boyfriends. One woman was killed by her son, one sex worker was killed by her "client" while five women were killed by their relatives.

Men killed 19 women inside the house and 10 women in places outside the house, such as a forest area, a street and a hospital.

Men killed over half of the women with firearms.

In April 2022, men killed 23 women with firearms, four women by strangling them and two women by using sharp objects.
